For most people biking has two purposes. You can move from a place to another and you also do a great cardio exercise. But remember if you just take a nice riding in the park that is not cardio. You need to push your body. A great cardio is to ride your bike uphill. A great thing is that you can do this type of cardio all the year in a gym or at your home because I don't think you are going to ride your bike in the winter when it is snowing. Running is the best for a nice cardio especial if you do it in the morning. Many people swim just when is hot to cool down but like any other exercise, for a greater result, you need to do it all the time.
